Cheltenham Park Flora and Fauna Reserve is a significant area of remnant indigenous vegetation, including some orchids. It's home for wildlife including several species of microbats and birds, and it's part of over 90ha of green space together with the adjoining golf courses. It has been a botanical park since 1951 and the Friends group and Bayside council have worked to enhance the vegetation and have conducted several controlled burns to encourage local species to germinate and grow and to minimise weeds.
Join Friends of Native Wildlife to celebrate National Bird Week and explore the park looking for birds.
